What is Doggett Torture Annonymous? There has always been some part of me that loves to see the ever-present scenes in action movies (sometimes also in love stories) where the hero takes a terrific beating and the heroine steps up to take care of him and nurse him back to health. Let me just say right now that, despite how that sounds, I am very much a feminist. I think maybe what I like about these scenes is the fact that the heroine is not dependent on the hero for anything. Instead, he is dependent on her. *She* has become the stronger person, even if only for a short while. I started reading X-Files fanfiction before I ever watched the show (I know...it's backwards). In fact, had it not been for some of these stories, I would never have started watching the show. One of my favorite sites to go to for fanfic was - and still is - MulderTorture Anonymous. Early last year, I developed a fascination with the "new guy": Agent John Jay Doggett (played by the wonderful Robert Patrick). I read all the DSR and DoggettTorture stories I could find. Unfortunately, there weren't many of them, so I started writing my own series. Through this site and my e-mailing group, I'm hoping to bolster the interest in DoggettTorture and inspire more writers to write stories of this genre. To anyone else, we DoggettTorture writers may appear to be a strange bunch of sadists, but I don't think about it that way. I consider the fascination with the hurt/comfort genre to be my maternal instincts kicking into overdrive...but maybe that's just me. :) These are stories for those of us who would like to see Doggett injured, sick, or abused, provided, of course, that Scully (or Reyes, or Mulder, or whoever floats your boat) provide comfort. Think of it this way: remember the garage scene in DeadAlive, when Doggett is thrown from Krycek's car window and he lays there on the floor for a while, panting and looking possibly injured? Didn't you just want to run to him, run your fingers through his hair - perhaps even kiss him - and tell him it would all be okay? (That was mostly a question for all the women out there, but if you guys agree that's okay too. :) ) *That* is what DoggettTorture is all about! Your webmistress, Diandra Hollman
